Description

What does it take to succeed, even when faced with a “storm” of challenges? George Kourounis compares his storm chasing and eco-exploration experiences to the types of challenges we all face—in both our personal and our professional lives. He uses the lessons learned from his own life-or-death adventures in the world’s most remote places to articulate down-to-earth strategies for meeting our challenging times. With dramatic video clips and stunning photography from around the world, Kourounis draws parallels on his experiences from setting goals, taking risks, and facing countless “storms”—of the figurative and literal kind. The same skill set used to face the most dangerous weather can also help us work through our everyday workplace and personal challenges. Kourounis shows us how it’s done.

George Kourounis is an explorer, storm chaser, television presenter, and freshly-minted Explorer-in-Residence with The Royal Canadian Geographical Society. Whether it’s a tornado in Kansas, a monster hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico, forest fires in Alberta, or descending deep inside an active volcano in the Congo, he’s there — with his camera rolling. His adventures have been seen around the world on the Discovery Channel, National Geographic, BBC-TV, CNN, Science Channel, and of course, his own adventure TV program, Angry Planet.
